Blue Jays Bo Bichette and Vladimir Guerrero Jr. Named to MLB All-Star Game

Toronto Blue Jays shortstop Bo Bichette and first baseman Vladimir Guerrero Jr. have been named to the American League All-Star team, the Major League Baseball (MLB) announced on Sunday. The All-Star Game will be played at Dodger Stadium in Los Angeles on Tuesday, July 19.

Bichette is making his second All-Star appearance, while Guerrero Jr. is making his first. Both players are having standout seasons for the Blue Jays, who are currently in first place in the American League East.

Bichette is batting .307 with 14 home runs and 47 RBIs in 77 games this season. He is also second in the AL with 20 stolen bases.

Guerrero Jr. is batting .290 with 22 home runs and 63 RBIs in 77 games. He is also leading the AL in on-base percentage (.414) and slugging percentage (.597).

The Blue Jays have not had two All-Stars since 2016, when Josh Donaldson and Edwin Encarnacion were both selected.

Bichette and Guerrero Jr. will be joined on the AL All-Star team by teammates Alek Manoah and George Springer. Manoah is a starting pitcher, while Springer is an outfielder.

The All-Star Game is an exhibition game between the best players in the American League and National League. The game is played annually during the MLB All-Star break, which is a four-day break in the regular season.
