Weather Warnings Issued for Abu Dhabi and Dubai
The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has been hit by a severe storm, with heavy rainfall, thunder, and lightning causing disruptions in several regions. In Dubai, the thunder roared incessantly, while lightning illuminated the skies over the city's iconic DIFC business district.
Weather warnings have been issued for Abu Dhabi and Dubai, as the storm is expected to continue for several hours. Residents have been advised to stay indoors and avoid venturing outside unless absolutely necessary.
The intense rainfall has caused flooding in parts of the UAE, with roads submerged and vehicles stalled. Authorities have deployed emergency response teams to assist with traffic management and provide aid to those affected by the storm.
The UAE's National Center of Meteorology and Seismology (NCMS) has urged residents to take precautions during the storm. Motorists are advised to reduce speed and maintain a safe distance from other vehicles, while pedestrians are advised to seek shelter in a sturdy building.
The NCMS has also issued a warning for rough seas, with strong winds and high waves expected along the country's coastal areas. Residents and visitors are advised to avoid swimming or fishing during this time.
