Haaland Scores Second Hat-Trick in Five Days
Manchester City continued their impressive form by crushing Championship leaders Burnley 6-0 in the Emirates FA Cup quarter-finals on Saturday. The victory sends City through to the semi-finals at Wembley.
Erling Haaland was once again the star of the show, scoring a hat-trick to follow up his five-goal haul against RB Leipzig in the Champions League midweek. Julian Alvarez also scored twice, while Riyad Mahrez added the other goal for City.
City were in control from the start and took the lead in the 28th minute when Haaland converted a penalty. Alvarez doubled the lead just before half-time, and City continued to dominate after the break.
Haaland scored his second goal in the 50th minute and completed his hat-trick in the 65th minute. Mahrez made it 5-0 in the 71st minute, and Alvarez added his second in the 82nd minute to complete the rout.
The victory was a comprehensive win for City, who have now won six consecutive matches in all competitions. They will face either Arsenal or Newcastle in the semi-finals at Wembley on April 16.
